Year 9 & 10 CORE (Learning Support)

Course Description

Entry into this option will be based on the student’s academic progress throughout Year 9 and Year 10. If your son has previously received Learning support and/or they have found the literacy and numeracy demands of Year 9 challenging, then it may be appropriate for your son to  be a part of this option. This course is designed to help bridge the gap in a student’s learning prior to moving into the senior school.

Content covered: To provide students with a level of support for their learning so that they can better manage the demands of core subject areas. The focus is on improving the students’ core literacy and numeracy skills, as well as providing necessary assistance with assignments, revision for tests and exams.

Assessment

On-going monitoring of progress with literacy and numeracy skills.

Year 10 and 11  course selection in consultation with the Dean and the Learning Support Department.
