Course Description
This is the quintessential NCEA Physical Education course for all those interested in physical activity, movement, sport and recreation here at Stream. There is a strong thematic focus on learning through movement, with a balanced emphasis on participating, performing, thinking, and analysing.
In this course, you will experience a wide range of movement and reflective experiences which, throughout the year, will generate evidence for assessment tasks.

Assessment
Assessments will be a range of practical work and theory work, where students will be given the opportunity to submit work for assessment utilising a range of modes including practical demonstrations, video explanations, audiovisual presentations and written reports.
This course offers a total of 20 Level 1 achievement standard credits - 10 credits in internal assessments, and 10 credits in external assessment tasks throughout the year.
1.1: Apply movement strategies in an applied setting (Internal, 5 Credits)
1.2: Demonstrate understanding of the application of strategies in movement (Internal, 5 Credits)
1.3: Demonstrate understanding of the influence of personal movement experiences on hauora (External, 5 Credits)
1.4: Demonstrate understanding of influences on movement in Aotearoa New Zealand or the Pacific (External, 5 Credits)
A course endorsement will be available to students who attain Merit or Excellence grades for 14 or more credits, with at least one external assessment at that grade.
