Level 3 Academic Athletic Development
AAD300: Level 3 Academic Athletic Development
Head of Department:
Course Description
The epitome of what it means to be a physically educated St. Patrick’s Silverstream student. This course is an athlete/performance focused programme that builds on the skills learnt in level 2 and is designed to help support our top student-athletes with learning that will enhance their performance on the field, but also grow them as a learner looking for their next challenge after their time at Stream has come to a close.
In this course you will be asked to biomechanically analyse a challenging physical skill and use that knowledge to improve your performance to a nationally recognised standard. You will undertake a training programme to meet a prescribed goal and critically analyse the results. In addition, we will examine strategies for maintaining physically active lifestyles after we leave school at the end of the year. Those with aspirations of Scholarship PE and future Physical Education study should seriously consider this course of study.
Timetabled class time will be split between practical and theoretical learning tasks. If you just want to kit up and play every day then join a sports team; if you want to learn and grow as a student and a performer, join us.
