Year 9 English/Social Studies

Course Description

English enables us to communicate with others and share and receive information, in both written and spoken forms. This course builds on key literacy skills such as reading, writing, and comprehension by looking deeply at poetry, short stories, and novels. We also explore mportant topics within the student’s world, such as sustainability and identity, to ensure that they are knowledgeable about their own lives and the world around them.

Topics covered: Identities and Journeys, Voices and Perspectives, Let’s Get Creative, Shakespeare, and Reading Portfolio.

Course contributions

Students are asked to contribute $25 (TBC) towards the cost of access to the online Education Perfect website.
