Course Description
This course aims to develop students' musical literacy skills through practical and written exercises. Boys are also encouraged to take private instrumental tuition through our instrumental music programme and get involved with the extra curricular opportunities to complement the classroom programme.
During the 10 week Music Rotation you will cover the following skills and topics:
Basics of notation reading including treble and bass clef, semibreve, minim, crotchet & quaver
Composing using prescribed rhythms and in the Key of C
Basic skills on keyboard, guitar and drum kit.
How to set up electric guitars, basses and microphones.
Perform as a soloist and perform in a group.
An introduction to DAW’s (Digital Audio Workstation), such as Band Lab or Soundtrap.
Assessment
Students will receive a single grade and comment at the end of the 10 weeks to reflect their progress across all the skills and topics listed above. Evidence for assessment is based on work completed in their music work booklets, performances and teacher observation.

If taking ITM music lessons on woodwind or brass (and you don’t have your own instrument), a $15 hire fee per term is required to hire an instrument from school..
