GTW300: Level 3 Gateway
Head of Department:
Course Description
Gateway is a programme that supports students to become work ready, through the Unit Standards the students complete and a work placement. Students spend one school day per week at a workplace in an industry they have selected to gain work experience. Those that are selected to be part of this programme are expected to catch up on any missed school work in their own time, so self-management is essential.
This is an amazing way to learn more about the industry you are considering as a part of your future career. You will also learn about communication process theory, dealing with complaints, effective communication strategies, and other key aspects of life beyond school.
To apply you need to complete an online application form, agree to the conditions of Gateway and complete an interview.
If you are interested you need to email Mrs Kurton (kurtond@stream.school.nz) to request an application form.
Topics covered: First Aid • Health and Safety • Communication Process Theory
