Level 3 Gateway

GTW300: Level 3 Gateway

Head of Department:

Mr Christopher Tait

Course Description

Students pursue individual learning programmes, which involve a work placement and units sourced from the relevant industry.

Gateway is a programme that supports students to become work ready, through the Unit Standards the students complete and a work placement. Students spend one school day per week at a workplace in an industry they have selected to gain work experience. Those that are selected to be part of this programme are expected to catch up on any missed school work in their own time, so self management is essential.

This is an amazing way to learn more about the industry you are considering as a part of your future career. You will also be learning skills and developing knowledge that will help you with  key aspects of life beyond school.

Students are expected to attain 20 credits from the unit standards on offer.

To apply you need to complete an application form, and write a cover letter and CV. Samples of a cover letter and CV are included in the application pack. Additionally, we require your parents/caregivers to send an email to Mrs Kurton to support your application, as well as indicating they understand and agree to the contents of the Gateway Agreement. When you submit a full application via email to Mrs Kurton, you will be invited to an interview with Mrs Miles and Mrs Kurton.

If you are interested you need to email Mrs Kurton to request an application pack.
