Course Description
Drama offers students the ability to explore life from a variety of different perspectives. This course provides a balance of theoretical learning and practical performance, and students will be actively encouraged to participate in wider drama activities, both in and outside of school. During the year students will refine their skills so that they convey intentional messages clearly to the audience.

Assessment
2.1 - Apply techniques in a scripted context (4 cr int)
2.4 - Use complex performance skills associated with a drama or theatre form (4 cr int)
2.2 - Devise and perform a drama to realise an intention (5 cr int)
2.6 - Perform a substantial acting role in a scripted production (5 cr int)
2.3 - Discuss a drama or theatre form or period with reference to a text (Optional External) (4 cr int)
The emphasis is on individual and group performance and learning in this 20-credit, internally and externally assessed course. In this course, the process - whether it be the interpretation of a role or a devised piece - is equally as important as the performance piece. The process will be assessed along with the final product.
Course contributions
Students are asked to make a $35 contribution towards the cost of providing scripts and costumes.
