DRA300: Level 3 Drama

Course Description
During the year the students will explore a wide range of topics in dramatic texts such as war, identity and social issues. This course offers a balance between theoretical and practical learning, and will build on students’ understanding of the dramatic concepts and the creative decision-making processes. At Level 3, students will be taught how to apply advanced dramatic concepts clearly in their performance.

TIC Drama will consider all applicants.
Assessment
3.1 - Interpret scripted text and integrate drama techniques in performance (4 cr int)
3.4 - Select and use complex performance skills associated with a drama or theatre form (4 cr int)
3.2 - Devise and perform a drama to realise a concept (5 cr int)
3.6 - Perform a substantial acting role in a significant production (5 cr int)
3.3 - Interpret a text from a prescribed playwright to demonstrate knowledge of a theatre form or period (Optional External) (4 cr int)
The emphasis is on individual and group performance and learning in this 18-credit, internally-assessed course. In this course, the process - whether it be the interpretation of a role or a devised piece - is equally as important as the performance piece. Process will be assessed along with the final product.
Course contributions
Students are asked to make a $35 contribution towards the cost of providing scripts and costumes.
