Course Description
Year 10 Business Studies option explains how individuals make business decisions and looks at skills needed to run a business. Students will study the features of entrepreneurs and also set up and manage their own small business - this will be done in small groups. This course also looks at the rights and responsibilities of consumers.
Topics covered: Dragons’ Den, Entrepreneurs • Setting up and running a small business in groups • Financial Literacy • Consumer Law
Assessment
Assessments will be: an individual research project on a chosen entrepreneur, a group business plan based on the business that the group has set up and run, over a term.
