HMT200: Level 2 Hard Materials
Course Description
Students will investigate material properties to develop a project for an authentic outcome.
Students will build a complex project in the first term where they will learn the necessary skills to develop their own concept. There will be plenty of room for students to develop their concept through inquiry-based learning and then develop that concept into a Prototype.

Three internal Achievement Standards are on offer in 2026.
AS91344 2.20 - Implement advanced procedures using resistant materials to make a specified product with special features - (6 Credits Internal)
AS91356 2.3 - Develop a conceptual design for an outcome - (6 credits Internal)
AS91357 2.4 - Undertake effective development to make and trial a prototype (6 Credits Internal)
