Course Description 

As we are faced with an ever-changing technological world, students will be asked to create a solution in response to a need or an opportunity. This course is student led as the student is given the autonomy to lead their own inquiry.

Throughout this process students will need to validate the decisions they make within their technological practice that supports ethical and qualitative reasoning. Students will be given the opportunity to explore a form of robotics should they choose, however they are not confined to this form of technology. Students will learn 3D modeling, laser cutting and machining. There are 16 credits on offer. This course is suited to students who are motivated and self-directed. Students will need to be able to manage their own time effectively and have the ability to meet deadlines.  

Prerequisite

This is an academic course. Ability to problem solve, design and plan a project would be beneficial. Relational / Extended grades at year 10.

Assessment

Three Achievement Standards. Two Internal and one external.

Course contributions

$120.00 covers materials where students take home their final design. (Costs may vary depending on the students’ inquiry).
