TM4T Techniques 1.1.2.1.1 Cake Discussion

Now, the reason we have introduced the cake problem is to illustrate a simple point: when we cut a cake, or when we divide up our work, we tend to make assumptions based on past experience.

For this problem (dividing a cake into eight pieces with three straight lines), the only tricky bit is keeping the knife steady.  Here is the first cut:
