If conflict arises, the first priority of reasonable people will be to resolve the conflict informally and promptly. This involves the use of common sense strategies like:

- understanding the reasons why the conflict arose and getting any issues discussed openly

- seeking a win-win situation and being prepared to compromise and negotiate

- focusing on the facts, while being prepared to express and accept feelings

- striving to finish the conflict, agree a way ahead and get on with the teaching.

The fact is that interpersonal issues (the word 'interpersonal' here includes conflict with the school management) can be enormously wasteful of time as well as stressful. You should be aware of this, and work hard to avoid issues dragging on. In particular, you should:
