TM4T Chronotypes - EP Actions

EPs tend to underestimate the importance of sleep; and may need to remind themselves just how exhausted they feel when things get stressful. The EP teacher needs a rigorous evening routine to encourage a restful night's sleep.  This means the usual sensible stuff described here but may also include the rituals beloved of weekend lifestyle magazines: warm baths, aromatherapy oils and whale music: that stuff.

The EP teacher should consider a short burst of morning exercise – or failing that a routine caffeine blast – to make sure they are awake and ready for the day. During the school-day, the EP teacher should take particular care about levels of blood sugar, trying to eat/snack regularly, and monitor dips in energy levels. The EP teacher should try to do routine administration work at school during the day, and be prepared to do focused work – anything that requires sharpness and decision-making - at home

For the EP teacher the best time for important decision-making is the evening - 16:00 to 23:00.  The EP is sociable most of the time, but especially from late afternoon onwards.  This means that the EP has a balancing act to undertake: their evenings represent their golden-time, both for work and pleasure. The EP may need to balance their evening social needs with the need to tackle difficult decisions and challenging tasks.    If the EP teacher really has dozy-issues in the morning, that 07:30 burst of aerobic exercise is a particularly good habit to get into.
