TM4T Background 0.2.1 - TM4T Rationale

TM4T is a big and ambitious method, with lofty ambitions and aspirations.

If that sounds a bit cringey, don't worry - most of the method is practical and pragmatic to the point of cynicism. If there is a technique that lets a teacher do their admin work quickly, we'll include it in the method. Easy ways to do things? Yep. Cheats? Hacks? Heckyes, they're all welcome.

The lofty ambitions relate to stress and lifestyle. TM4T is a time-management method, so it is inherently about doing things efficiently and saving time; however: It is not intended that you do your work quicker so that you can do more work.

It is intended that you can achieve a more balanced and stress-free life if you can do the-boring-stuff quickly, therefore leaving more time for the interesting stuff.

TM4T has an underlying assumption that the 'interesting stuff' is real teaching, whereas the 'boring-stuff' is admin work.

However, TM4T principles also apply outside of school, and the same idea is valid: if you can do the boring stuff quickly and easily, it will leave you more time - and energy - to do the things that you want in your outside life.
