The main screen

The main screen shows a list of all project items (events, groups and tasks) with their start date, and end date for the tasks and groups. An pin icon before these dates indicates that they are fixed and not computed.

List is a tree list, the members of a group are following their group, you can mask or show them.

A header shows some information about the project:

• • project name and edition number,

  • start date,

  • essential end date and total end date.

At screen bottom, a save button is enabled when some data are modified, or when project has not been yet saved. Clicking this button generally shows two options : creating new file or replacing file. Edition number is then automatically incremented.

Creating new file option creates the file in project private memory. Replace file option rewrite the file without moving it. 

This edition has been set to 1 when first saving the project, and a project edition command allow to reset it (it is then recommended to modify the project name).

When you select an item, action bar commands allow:

• • to display the editing screen of the item, task, group or event, for modifications,

  • to delete, which do display a confirmation message to delete the item (if it is a group, all members are also deleted),

  • to Insert before or after, Task, Group and Event do creating the corresponding item after entering its name, and duration for task, and this item will be inserted at this location in the list of items,

• to link this item to another item chosen in a list of items that can be linked, by a begin to end link with zero delay.

  • to do go up or down the item in the list (groups are moved with all their members, and for members of a group move is between members),

• to attach to a task or event that follows a group doing it member of the group, or to detach from a group its last member.

The edition screen display command is also automatically launched when you select touching at center or right of the line.

However, only authorized commands will be displayed: you will not have the Delete command if the item has successors, not the Up command if this is the first in the list ...

By options menu  you can access many other commands:

• • Help (), do display this help,

  • Project, do display the project editing screen,

  • Add (), Task, Group or Event, do creating the corresponding item, the item will be placed last in the list,

  • Export, when the project has been saved and not modified after saving,  with options PDF results, CSV results and Manage results, do display the export screen,

  • Show Workloads, Dependencies, Gantt, Margins, Responsibles, do display the corresponding screens.

When creating the project, the calendar has been initialized with the calendar set by the preferences. It can be updated or reset with the project edit screen.

If you do back with changes not saved, you are requested to save changes, OK save changes replacing file, or a new back cancels changes.
