Nim Game XL help

Introduction to Nim Game XL help

Nim Game XL is a strategy game which is played by two persons, preparing objects heaps (you can create from 1 to 99 heaps with up to 999 objects). Players must take one after other one or several objects in one heap, and following the end game option chosen:

    • option called "misère" the one that must take the last object loses,
    • option called "normale" the one that can take the last objects wins (see the game rule).

It allows you to create simple Nim games with one or two heaps, Nim games of medium complexity with 3 to 5 heaps (especially Marienbad game is a Nim game with 4 heaps - default preferences correspond to this game), and complex Nim games with lots of heaps and lots of objects.

Thanks to preferences, you can choose the number of heaps, the number of objects for each heap, the maximum number of objects the player can take at each stroke, the end game option...

Two persons may play, or you may play alone, other player game being done by an automate operated by the program.

It is a brain game, analyzing situation you may develop a strategy which allows you to win or gives you chances to win.

The development of this strategy requires calculations that can be done mentally if the situation of the game is not too complex. In complex situations, so you have not find a pen and a paper, the program offers a worksheet where each player can make note of the numbers and operations.
