Importing and exporting, vCard format and vcf file

This program can export contacts in vCard format. In this format, each contact is formed into a series of text lines. There are several versions of this format, the program has retained V3.0 is the most used today. It is defined in the standard RFC 2426. The texts of the various contacts are following in a text file to which is attributed vcf extension.

The vCard format contains key information for a contact, such as broken names, phone numbers and email addresses, postal addresses, and may also contain the photography, date of birth and notes. By cons it does not provide all the information you can find in Android contact as relationships and events (except birth).

This program allows you to create vcf files from contact selections (export). A selection may be one contact or a list of contacts, to which can be added contacts that are directly or indirectly linked by family links. A selection may be also all contacts having family links or personnal data (birthday, gender ...).

The program allows to save the selection in mobile private or public extended memory , and pass it to another program (such as Google Drive) to save it on other hardware or "cloud". The program fills the main information contained in the vCard format and add as notes other personal information and family links.

Similarly, the program can import contacts from a vcf file. He must find the vcf file into the scope of mobile extended memory (private program memory or public memory) or having it be passed by another application. The program may import automatically contacts, either skipping contacts whose full name is already present, either merging them. The program can also ask to user for each contact if it must be skipped or imported (with options replace or merge data for contacts whose full name is already present) .

The vCard format allows to import files created by this program in other applications, and importing into this program files created in other applications (versions 2.1 or 3.0 of standard). However, the standard is complex, gives rise to differing interpretations, and export and import functions are not error-free, and an import may lose or alter information.

Exporting create export files in the program private extended memory which is deleted automatically if you uninstall the program. To ensure the retention of files you can move them to a public extended memory directory, or pass them to another program (eg Google Drive).

To manage your vcf files into extended memory, importing and exporting functions display a list of those they found on the mobile (except private files of other programs), and allows you to see preview, move, rename, and delete them.
