Awale is an old African strategy game that is played by 2 players with a game board containing 6 squares in front of each player, with 4 seeds at the start, and a large square for the collected seeds.
The program simulates the game board and the players' gestures on the mobile and allows you to play 2 or alone against an "Automate" managed by the program.
The goal of the game is to collect as many seeds as possible, the winner is the one who has the most seeds at the end of the game.
The players take turns. In turn, the player takes all the seeds from one of his squares and he spreads them in the agreed direction of rotation, one seed per square, in the squares that follow on his row then on that of his opponent.
If his last seed falls into an opponent's square and there are then 2 or 3 seeds in this square, the player collects them. Then he looks at the previous square: if it is also in the opponent's camp and contains 2 or 3 seeds, he picks them up, and so on until there are no 2 or 3 seeds, or he reaches his squares.
However, there are restrictions on the strokes, you must not "starve" your opponent, and you must "feed" a "starving" opponent as much as possible.
The game ends if there are no more seeds on the board, or if it is no longer possible to feed the "starving" opponent. But this can be very long, and you can decide to stop before, for example when a player has picked up more than half of the seeds because then his opponent can no longer win.
This game is also known as Awele, Oware, Ayo, Golem... and these rules come from the rules of Ivory Coast called "Abapa" which seem to be the most used. However, if you are used to playing with slightly different rules, there are options to adapt these rules, hoping that this will allow you to play with your usual rules.
