Nim Game XL - Jeu de Nim XL (in english)

Nim Game XL is an Android program that allows playing a wide variety of Nim games, from the simplest with one heap up to complex games with dozen or dozens of heaps.

Nim games are strategy games that are played by two. With this program, available on Android Market, you can play 2 but also alone, the program making the game the other player.

In classic versions of Nim games, we have at the beginning heaps (or rows) of objects (which can be matches, tokens, coins ... and why not bricks ...), and one after other the players must remove one or more objects in one heap, until there are no more objects. you can decide as end game option that the one who gets the last object is the winner (option called "normale") or the loser (option called "misère") ... They belong to the games called "impartial games" where you can find a winning strategy for the calculation.

An example of Nim game is Marienbad game, there are 4 heaps of objects that are matches. You can play this game with the program Marienbad, available on Android market, or with Nim Game XL (you will just take the defaults).

This program makes it possible to choose the number of heaps (1 to 99), the number of objects per heap (1 to 999), the end-game option ("normale" or "misère"), and maximum number of objects that one can remove at each stroke (it is essential to limit it with a single heap, with several heaps is an additional complexity and can be put to a number greater than the number of objects of the larger heap to avoid it).

To play with Nim Game XL, it's simple, select players, then "Go", the game board appears with the name of the player whose it is the turn. Select a heap, the account to remove appears with increment and decrement buttons, adjust the account to remove and select "Play", the count of the heap is modified and the player's name is changed ...
