A message from the Editor Founder & President of csaccac Inc

As we slowly approach the end of November, I would like to take a moment to once again give recognition to the month of November that has been designated to bring awareness to diabetes.

A life threatening illness, diabetes is frequently found in Afro-Americans and black people. Although, diabetes is a treatable disease, currently, there is no known cure for the disease. Make no qualms about it; the first step to eradicating diabetes is to knows the symptoms. Dolefully, the disease does not only affect Afro-Americans, each year thousands of pregnant women also develop the disease; therefore, it is important to know the different signs related to diabetes. Admittedly, I support many causes, of course, I cannot support them all. Veritably, many of the health causes I support either a family member, close friend or co worker has been diagnosed with that particular illness. Earnestly, in July, I began to look into the symptoms of diabetes while writing July's editor note. Even though, I didn't complete the dialogue pertaining to diabetes at that time because of the emotions tied to the subject, I ponder the subject for several weeks. Indavertently, while I worked to update the csaccac calendar, I stumbled upon information stating that November had been designated as National and American Diabetes month. As result, all throughout November, I made note to make certain that I include Diabetes Awareness in the csaccac calendar from that point forward and to get the facts. Since, this is a touchy topic ,personally, because I have grandmother, parents and siblings living with the disease, I hesitated for several weeks before I eventually forced myself to sit with the facts that diabetes is a dangerous and deadly disease. Briefly, let me state that consumers and shoppers should know that there's two types’ diabetes, type 1 Diabetes and type 2 Diabetes. In addition to the two different types of diabetes, there is a third form of diabetes often found in pregnant women during pregnacies called gestational diabetes. Typically, type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes found in Americans and is treatable with balanced meals and excercise. Clearly, it's type 1 diabetes that is more dangerous and deadly . Because type 1 diabetes is a high health risk, type 1 diabetes requires that individuals diagnosed with the disease do more than focus on a balance meal and exercise. In most instances, people diagnosed with type 1 diabetes have to check their blood glucose levels frequently throughout the day. Before, I conclude this note; I would like to share with you a few of the symptoms related to diabetes

    • increase in thrist

    • frequent urination

    • blurred vision

    • weight gain/weight loss.

Unequviocally, the holidays is time that a lot consumers and shoppers like to go off their diet and pile some of their favorite holiday food on their plate, but for diabetics this could be unhealth and not safe. instead of sitting on the side lines,on my fortieth birthday, I resolved to get proactive about my health from ovarian cancer to diabetes. Remarkably with the assitance of the world wide web, there's alot information available to consumers and shoppers pertaining to diabetes, so , if you or a family member has been diagnosed with this disease dont wait get the fact because diabetes is treatable.

Sincerely
