A Note from the Editor;
"Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase.” ---- Martin Luther King Jr.
Faith is believing that in life the good will outweigh the evil and injustices of the world; Faith is knowing that eventually good will prevail despite your circumstances, situation, and outward appearance, it is faith that keeps many of us moving towards the future. In previous decades, the faith of one-man Martin Luther King inspired and motivated millions to join the Civil Rights Movement. From the years, I attended public school (k-12), I ‘d been introduced to the teachings, life and works of two African American male figures whose life transmuted African American History, Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. Today, I continue to recognize both male figures as having a significant impact within black communities and on black families through their teachings; however, it is the life and works of Martin Luther King that commemorates this day. And, as I scroll through the many web articles describing and detailing the life and works of Martin Luther King Jr., an activist, and civil rights leader, I am reminded of the great works one man began to unite a country and a people in an effort to end inequality and segregation. Since the designation of the day, passed into law in 1983,each year millions of Americans from all walks of life come together to honor and remember the life’s work of Martin Luther King Jr., the day commemorates both the birth and life of the Civil Rights Leader as well as the efforts and progress of Civil Rights Movement As Editor, Founder and President of csaccac Inc, I strongly believe in the message and life’s work of Martin Luther King Jr., especially his message of nonviolence and peaceful protest.While the African American community has made significant strides with election of the African American President in 2008,African American and black communities across the United States has also endure setbacks stemming from high unemployment, gang violence, and the resurgence of overt racism. Of course, the numbers and news reports gives a dose reality which at times is disconcerting and disparaging, now is not the time to quit, the African American community must continue to press further and work towards the dreams and vision of Martin Luther King Jr.,to build a better future than that of the past, to make a better life for the sons and daughters of today, and to shape a present where each and every person is respected and valued as human beings "endowed with inalienable rights".
Sincerely,
