A note from the Editor's desk;

Black Hiv/Aids Awareness: Prevention Starts with Education.

New drugs and new medicine as the nightly news reports is helping people with Hiv/Aids live longer, the well-known saying ‘10,20,40 years of Hiv/Aids is enough’’ and I think family and friends of those affected with the virus or knows someone whose succumb to the virus probably strongly agree _,it's time for a cure. February 7th is Black Hiv/Aids Awareness Day,it is a day that is very important within the Black community. From this Editor’s point of view education is and has always been the best defense against preventing the spread of the virus, other than a vaccine which is being tested in some countries however, a vaccine isn't available to the public in the United States.;therefore, precautions must be taken to prevent new infections. Hiv/AidS is a virus that’s impacted communities around the world with impoverished and minority communities representing the highest number of infections. prevention starts with knowing the facts, how the virus is spread, the symptoms,and who's at the greatest risk_ each one of the mentioned segments is part of preventing the spread of the virus. A preventable virus that is beatable through safe practices and education, Prevention Starts with Education.
