Black Music History Month,2013

While preparing this month's eNewsletter,it was brought to my attention that June is Black Music Month. In the process of writing this article,I took a few moments during the weekend to view BET's 2012 Soul Train Awards on the Centric cable channel,a great a show paying tribute to various black music artist. Each year in the month of June Afro-American,Blacks,and minorites give recognition to music developed and created by blacks,the month for a myriad of blacks and minorites is a month long celebration of music as well as the life of various black music artist. Proclaimed into existence from then President Jimmy Carter, Black Music month first came into existence on June 7,1979. Since it's proclamation,Black Music month has been recognized throughout the United States. Born in the 70's,I became a music fanatic at a young age. A source of motivation,inspiration,and encouragement music has been a part of my life from the moment I could recognize voices and sound. And truthfully speaking, both music and songs has had a great impact on my upbringing. From gospel to R & B to Rock n Roll,music has been a saving grace during on the sad days and a source of motivation on the days of when Im at a lost for words,as a matter of fact,a quick glance at MySpace page you 'll see and find a few of the music artist that has had an impact on my life and music selections.
