Moments in Black: Georgia (the state)

Nicknamed the Peach State,host to Super Bowl XXVII in 1994,and Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000,also home to the 1996 Summer Olympics,and frequently referred to as Hot Atlanta in late nineties,the 28th largest state in the United States,Georgia has received much attention throughout the years from tourist to reality television. An economic powerhouse in the late eighties and early nineties,positioned at the center of the state's economic growth where it functioned as a wholesale and retail center,Atlanta,the state's capital for several decades experienced rapid growth. Remarkably,Savannah,Georgia's oldest city has withstood modernization over the years,and has kept its historical charm.Infused with old and new culture Georgia continues to be a tourist attraction. Film,tourism,literature,television and music,Georgia has housed each of these industries with much success including the litetature of Alice Walker( the Color Purple ) the music of Ray Charles (Georgia On My Mind) and Gladys Knight (Midnight Train to Georgia). As a matter of fact,Georgia has been home to over 700 film and television shows including Tyler Perry 's House of Payne and Meet the Browns. To conclude,quite an amazing accomplishment,Georgia continues to lead in business and economic growth while producing raising stars in some of todays most competitive industries.
