Introduction:

Continuing the lightweight wing development. This was originally going to have a 1108 7800kv motor, but it didn't work well with my escs.

Components:

  • Dollar tree foam board

  • DSMX receiver

  • SZ Speed 1106 7500kv motor with LDARC 3.8" props

  • 2x 3.5g servos

  • littlebee 20a ESC with 5v regulator

Conclusion:

81g dry. I'm down to using some older foam board that didn't peel off as cleanly. Fortunately, physics doesn't care how these planes look. It definitely looks like it has a marble texture on it.

This flies really well. I was able to finish the first flight without any trim adjustments. A 2s 550mah flew for 5 mins coming down at 3.7. Battery life isn't the best, but that's to be expected given the motor/prop combo. I'll need to try this on 3" props as well as I think the motors will not do so well in the summer heat although they came down only warm on a 60degree day.
