Introduction:

Had this for a long time, finally getting thru to it in the backlog. Been waiting a long time to try a plank with rudder control.

Components:

  • JHEMCU Wing FC v2

  • LittleBee 30A esc x2

  • Racerstar 2212 1000kv motor x2 with HQ 7" props

  • Armattan 2206 2400kv motor x2

  • Crossfire Nano RX

  • Beitian 220T GPS

  • Caddx Vista with OG DJI camera

  • Emax ES08MA II Analog Metal Gear Micro Servo x3

Conclusion:

1100grams dry. This came out a bit heavier than expected, but I'm hoping that it will still fly well.

Update 2/27/22: The maiden went well, but was tail heavy. I added some ballast in the front and took it out again. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get it in the air again. I need to toggle some settings in autolaunch and try again.

Update 3/16/22: Finally was able to get it in the air again after launching in manual mode. The issues turns out to be that inav needs quite a bit more elevator authority than I expected even though I had upped the feed forward for pitch. I manually adjusted the throws on the servos to see if it will improve autolaunch.

Update 3/18/22: Swapped in Gemfan 6042s & 6s on the RS 2212 1000kv motors. These are super efficient and super quiet. It cruises at 50kph on around 6amps and 120kph max on 20amps. Although this is very quiet and efficient, I want more speed as well, so I may try some 7" props next on 6s.
