Introduction

A direct transfer of the babyhawk r into the Iflight frame

Components

• iFlight iX2 Lite V3 2.5 inch frame

• Babyhawk R stack

• LDARC 1304 6500kv motors

• Runcam Nano 2

• Frsky r-xsr receiver

Conclusion

This flies a lot better than the original 2". It'll be interesting to swap out the motors on these one day for ones with wider stators. I'll need to fly it a lot more to give it a proper tune first though. The dry weight came out to 89g.

Update 1/28/20 - So I didn't fall in love with the 1106s on 2.5" props, so I went with 1304s to see if I can get it to run a bit smoother. The weight came to 95g dry, but I'm hoping the more efficient motors will end up improving battery life.

Update 1/29/20 - The 1304 motors did turn out to be a great improvement. Even with the slight weight increase, the flight time increased by almost 1.5 minutes. It also was much easier to tune as I was able to significantly turn down the Ps.

Update 8/15/20 - Escs 1 & 4 burnt. I could've replaced the board, but I felt the same would happen again, so I'll rebuild this using different components
