Introduction:

I was having automated flight control issues with the last wing, so I decided to use a better flight controller with this one to try to narrow down the issue.

Components:

  • Dollar tree foam board

  • 2x 3.7g servos

  • SZ speed 1407 4000kv motors with 5030 prop

  • Beitian 180 GPS

  • Frsky xm+ receiver

  • 2x 5v regulators

  • FE200T vtx 200mw

  • Favorite Bee 30A ESC

  • Foxeer micro arrow camera

  • Noxe F4 flight controller

  • Battery strap

Conclusion:

130g dry. This again came out a tad on the heavier side, but it should still come out under 250g with a battery. This also uses a larger motor so it should be able to carry a bigger battery as well.

Update 10/21/20: This flies ok, but felt a bit heavier than I wanted and definitely likes throttle being applied. The prop used wasn't great and at full throttle knocked the plane out of the sky with the vibrations. I'm switching to a different 5" prop. The linear antenna was also not working well. I'm going to replace it with a dipole to see if it improves. If not, it may be the VTX as the Eachine VTX-03 performs better at 25mw than this does at 100mw. Otherwise, the wing still needs fine tuning.

Update 10/23/20: This broke after numerous failed takeoffs. For some reason, it would not pull up even though it was in manual mode. Not sure if there was a misconfiguration in the FC. On the last landing, it took me an hour to find it in the field the the vtx fried during that time.
