Introduction:

Still in search of my perfect fpv vehicle, I created this inav diff thrust plank. The other objective was to learn how to configure a GPS so that I can test antennas in the future since I don't want to crash when I get out of range.

Components:

  • Dollar tree foam board and plane for fuse

  • 2x Racerstar 1104 6500kv motor

  • 4 in 1 ESC from a Leader 120 (with only 2 escs functional)

  • Noxe F4 FC running Inav

  • Eachine VTX01 & EOS 2 camera

  • Frsky XM+

  • 2x 3.7g servos

  • Beitian 180 GPS

Conclusion:

It came out to 120g dry with FPV gear. This one was not an easy one to tune. The initial maiden didn't go well because the CG was again a bit further up than I thought and the differential thrust of the motors were not perfectly equal, so it took a number of adjustments. After it flew well on manual mode, I added the fpv gear and tested the GPS. It was able to return to home and loiter without issues, but I was having trouble with alt & pos hold switches. It still needs lots of tuning.

Update 7/28/20 - Unfortunately, the plane suffered too much damage during the tuning flights and could no longer continue without risking all the equipment. The fuse snapped in two and the wing spar snapped along with damages in many sections of the wing.
