Micro-T v2
Introduction:
I spent some time over the winter to adapt my game wheel to drive my micro RC cars around the house. The first one I drove around was my old Losi Micro Truggy. It was all wheel drive and was a ton of fun. Instead of swapping out the receiver on my old micro T, I decided to build another one instead.
Components:
Stock Losi micro T
Upgraded ball bearings
Upgraded RPM bumper
Upgraded threaded axles
Upgraded rear shocks
Turnigy 1220 10300kv motor
3.7g servo
Dys XM10a ESC
5v regulator
Frsky D8 ppm receiverDSM receiver
Conclusion:
This is my second conversion. The first one was done during my first year in the RC hobby. It was a real challenge back then with the transmission conversion to use ball bearings. While it is still not trivial, it went a lot more smoothly now that I have a few years of experience with RC. Having more experience with different components, I was also able to squeeze everything into the body this time without having to cut the whole body apart. Stuff I would not consider attempting back then I would now do without a second thought. Overall, it was very satisfactory effort and a lot of fun to drive around the house.
Update 2/28/21: I decided to put the whole indoor fpv car fleet on DSM so I don't have to worry about changing the knob on the multiprotocol module. I had to de-pin the receiver for it to fit and even then, it was tight.
