Banshee 375

Version 2 - Redesign after ESC failure

Introduction:

I built this to mainly try out the Amaxinno 1103 7500kv motors that have been hyped about for so long.

Components:

  • Amaxinno 1103 7500kv with Gemfan 3025s
  • Eachine TX06 aio camera
  • Frsky xm+ receiver
  • Crazybee F4 AIO 5a Teeny F4 pro stack with 5a esc
  • Newt 3" frame
  • Buzzer
  • Betafpv canopy

Conclusion:

The first build used the Crazybee F4 and came in at 43g dry. It seemed to fly ok until a crash destroyed an esc. By this time, I was getting really fed up with burning escs on the crazybees and decided to pay the weight penalty and go with the reliable Teeny F4 stack instead (3g difference).

The new build came in at almost 46 grams dry. The first flights were a disaster as I couldn't seem to tune the darn thing. I finally realized that by forgoing any mounting hardware and only relying on foam tape was really messing with the gyros on the FC. Another crash seems to have taken out a motor as well.

After rebuilding it twice, all the electronics seem to be more stable and it flies pretty amazing. Despite being a few grams heavier than I wanted, these motors do live up to the hype. They have amazing power and run really cool. I still like the eaglepower 1103 10000kvs though. They are both good motors, but if I had to choose one, I would choose this because I feel that the gemfan 3025s feel a bit better on these motors.
