Batcan
Introduction:
After trying the 0802 motor, I was not terribly impressed with the performance on 2s. I wanted to build a 0803 version using the trashcan motors. Bat100 frame + trashcan = Batcan. I didn't do a motor swap on the original because I wanted to fly these side by side for a proper comparison.
Components:
- Bat 100 frame
- Beecore F4 10a 4in1 1-2s board
- 0803 15000kv motors x4 (Trashcan motors)
- 65mm props (trimmed by 1mm on each end)
- LST S2 AIO camera/vtx
- frsky micro D8 receiver
Conclusion:
Everything came together at 27grams, which was only 1 gram more than the 0802 version. Indoor cruising with a 450mah 1s was around 7 mins. With a 2s 250, it was around 5 minutes. Efficiency definitely isn't as good as the 0802, but we'll see how it performs outdoors.
Update 4/13/19 - The bat100 frame broke upon impact with asphalt, so I switched to a 3d printed frame which appears to be nylon. It's now 30grams dry.
