sfw2523v2

Introduction:

I'm rebuilding this to be a 4s flier, so I upgraded to a carbon arrow shaft instead of a bamboo spar. The difference in stiffness is night and day.

Components:

  • Foam board (with foam pipe insulation for fuselage)

  • Carbon fiber arrow shaft

  • 2x sg90 servos

  • Velotech Magic 20a esc w/ 5v BEC

  • Cobra 2205 2300kv motor

  • DSM receiver

  • Eachine battery strap

Conclusion:

192g dry. Only 3 grams in weight gain over the previous version of this plane. I think I got more efficient in building this and was able to cut some weight because I think the carbon spar weighed quite a bit more than the bamboo skewer. I can't wait to test this out.

Update 12/9/20: The maiden went really well. The shaft works perfectly as there is absolutely no flex in the wings on high g maneuvers. I ordered some nicer servos to put on this to see how it will perform.
