Introduction:

Testing out the RCinpower 1204 5000kv motors

Components:

• RCInPower 1204 5000kv motors

• Frsky D8 receiver
• TX06 AIO camera

Conclusion

At 58g dry, the weight came out a bit higher than I wanted. I originally wanted to use a different frame since these motors are larger and this frame probably won't hold up in a hard crash. However, my frame order got delayed so I got impatient and built this anyway.

I flew this back to back with the Banshee470. The 1104 7000kv motors were lighter and is almost perfect on 2s. The 1204s flew well on 2s, but were really meant for 3s. You can definitely feel the heavier weight. Overall though, the motors were super smooth and you can tell how good the motors are by how easy a quad is to tune. Tuning this was almost effortless.

Update 11/5/19 - The frame snapped an arm after a crash into a tree. I'll be rebuilding this with a different frame and probably better camera.
