Week 12 - Measurement

Students learned how to;

1. Choose and use standard metric units and their abbreviations (km, m, cm, mm, kg, g, l and ml ) when estimating, measuring and recording length, weight and capacity.

2. Convert between units of measurement (kg and g, l and ml, km, m, cm and mm), using decimals to three places.

3. Convert larger to smaller metric units (decimals to one place), e.g. change 2.6 kg to 2600 g

4. Order measurements in mixed units

5. Compare readings on different scales

Week 11 - Solving Equations and Test T1-2

Students learned how to;

5. Solving equations with steps working.

6. Using symbols to represent an unknown number (e.g. 3n = 30, n =10).

7. Using inverses in finding missing number problems algebraically.

8. Finding pairs of numbers to satisfy equations involving two unknowns.

Week 10 - Functions Machines with Inverse Method

Students learned how to;

1. Solving equations using function machines.

2. Using inverse method for solving one and two steps of equations.

3. Identify the input, output and all the rules from the equations given.

Week 9 - Square Numbers, Cube Numbers, Square Roots and Sequences

Students learned how to;

1. Identify the square numbers, cube numbers & square roots.

2. Understand the arithmetic sequences and generate linear number sequences.

3. Understand and calculate the function machines.

Week 8 - Lowest Common Multiples, Highest Common Factors, Prime Numbers & Composite Numbers

Students learned how to;

1. Finding the lowest common multiples (LCM) of 1-digit and 2-digit numbers by listing the common multiples

2. Finding the highest common factors (HCF) of 1-digit and 2-digit numbers by listing the common factors

3. Identify the prime and composite numbers.

Week 7 - Factors & Multiples

Students learned how to;

1. Understand how brackets can be used in calculation problems.

2. Quiz of Order of Operations (BIDMAS)

3. Identify the factors of 2-digit & 3-digit numbers using multiplication and division method.

4. Finding the multiples, common multiple and LCM of 1-digit and 2-digit numbers.

Week 6 - Problems solving, Reasoning & Algebra and Test T1-1

Students learned how to;

1. Using the order of operations to carry out calculations (BIDMAS) - Using Brackets

2. Test T1-1

Week 5 - Multiplication & Division of Decimal Numbers (Written & Estimation Method)

Students learned how to;

1. Multiplication of decimal numbers using Grid Method and in MONEY contexts

2. Long Division with remainder using DECIMAL FORM (2 decimal places) and using fractions form

Week 4 - Rounding, Adding & Subtracting of Decimal Numbers and Rechecking Assessment Y5 Paper

Students learned how to;

1. Rounding of decimal number to nearest whole numbers, tenth, hundredth & thousandth using number lines and pyramid techniques (round up & round down).

2. Comparing & ordering of fractions by converting to decimal numbers using number lines.

3. Calculation of addition and subtraction of decimal numbers in money contexts. (Calculating change)

4. Recheck and corrections for each questions from Maths assessment - Year 5 Paper P1 & P2.

Week 3 - Decimal Numbers & Assessment Y5

Students learned how to;

1. Addition & subtraction of 7-digit numbers using mental method. (jump up or frog & partition)

2. Comparing & ordering of decimal numbers with 2 places using place value chart.

3. Quiz of decimal place value, comparing & ordering of decimal numbers.

4. Rounding of decimal number to nearest whole numbers, tenth & hundredth.

5. Maths Assessment - Year 5 Paper P1 & P2

Week 2 - Addition & Subtraction (Written Method) and Rechecking Assessment Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Mock Paper

Students learned how to;

1. Addition and subtraction of 5 and 6-digit numbers using column method by understanding the regrouping and borrowing concepts.

2. Recheck and corrections for each questions from assessment Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Mock Paper P1 & P2.

Week 1 - Number, Place Value & Assessment Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Mock Paper

Students learned how to;

1. Read and write 7-digit numbers and know what each digit represents and using place value chart.

2. Compare and order 7-digit numbers using the >, < and = signs.

3. Understand the words digit (numerals from 0-9), place (position of a digit in a number) and value (amount each digit is worth). (Maths vocabulary)
