In week Five, Year 5 began their new unit: Investigators. In the Entry Point, they encountered a crime scene and had to observe and take note of evidence. They began to discover the skills they will learn within the unit.
In week Four, Year 5 have learned about the importance of cooperation and global awareness in their learning. They discussed what 'International Mindedness' means to them and why it is important. They also looked at news stories from around the world and learned about different charities, both locally and internationally.
In week Three, Year 5 have learned about Growth and Fixed mindsets. They have also learned about how their emotions can have an effect on their learning and attitude to learning. They have explored how we can make positive impacts on our own learning by having awareness of how we learn and also by changing our learning environment.
In week Two, the students in Year 5 learned about some different areas of the brain and their function. They also learned about memory and some of the different ways of learning.
In week One, Year 5 began the Brainwave unit. They discussed what makes a good learner and a good teacher. They discussed skills and talents and planned how to teach their particular skill to their peers.
