The Scroll and Pen

The Scroll and Pen is located in the northeast part of town, in the business district. The store sells all sorts of writing supplies, including all the various types of scrolls suitable for scribing spells per the DMG.

They also sell spell books, although generally few are available.  See this page for pricing. 

Likelihood of having such books in stock is 40% - 2% per level of the book for standard spell books, and 60% - 2% per level for traveling spell books. If success is rolled, roll again for a second book and so on. If they are out, there will be none available for 2-12 days.

They will typically have a large supply of mundane quills and ink, though these are high quality items. Quills cost 1g each, and ink is 2g for enough to write ten pages on a typical 8x10 journal page.

There is a chance of having quills of quality for magical purposes, costing 10g each.

The store also sells blank books for journals and the like, from pocket sized books for 1g up to 8x10 sized versions for 5g for a 25 page version; add 5g for each increase in pages up to 100 pages maximum. Special versions be made on order, and will generally cost more.
