This town, founded in 997, supports itself with fishing, and by a quarry in the hills to the west. Originally begun as a copper mining town, a large deposit of marble was found in the hills in 1005, and the inhabitants of the town have been hauling it out ever since, trading it for food, building supplies, and other necessities they cannot produce themselves. The town is a rough place, as it is a popular destination for sending criminals convicted of crimes against the state.
