Country: Attellaria
Ruled by: Finarfin
Population: about 10,000
Primary Business: trading, border outpost
Alchemist: Menoram
Magic Shop: No
Sage: Anthast Denarabrim, Serendar Martharalif
Figures of Interest: Finarfin, Alterein, Hirlaen (retired), Airlaen (deceased)
General Notes: Finarfin castle is actually a small town, based around a walled complex of a castle and manor house. It was built by the group of adventurers led by the priest Finarfin, whose associates include the mage Alterein, and warriors Airlaen and Hirlaen. The warriors sometimes adventure, but Finarfin and Alterein have retired from such.
Figures of Interest: Finarfin is the leader of a band of adventurers whose great success allowed the building of a huge castle which eventually became a small town named after the castle, which was named after the group leader. Other members of the group include Alterein, a high level magic‑user, Airlaen and Hirlaen, both fighters, who are brothers. Two other members of the group were killed on a mission into the hells in 1154.
Notes and History: Finarfin was begun in 1143, and construction has never truly stopped, although it has slowed from its initial frantic pace. The men of Finarfin rarely adventure anymore, and after the disaster in the Hells which led to the permanent death of two of the members of the group, has not adventured at all since 1154. Unlike most high level spell‑casters, Finarfin and Alterein continue to cast spells for a fee, although their customers have grown more select and their prices a bit higher over the years.
The two fighters live most of the time in the Lord's Keep, a smaller, more spartan fortress southeast of Finarfin.

THE TOMBS UNDER FINARFIN MANOR HOUSE
Various persons serving under or associated with the men of Finarfin have died the final death. Their bodies are interred in the tombs under the Finarfin manor house. It is rumored that the tombs are strongly protected magically; this is fact, and, if anything, the fact is far greater than the rumor.
