Jiaghu was settled about 1050, never really grew much, had problems with monster attacks, and was eventually abandoned about 1133.
The town was the site of an ancient Set temple, inhabited only by the leavings and scavenged weaklings that its ruler, a Child of Set, could rule. The Child and its minions were all slain in 1159 by adventurers, and the temple shortly collapsed. Nothing of value remained.
Ivanslop Yurbalsov has made noises about resettling it, but doesn't really have the funds or ability to do so, and there is really nothing nearby to support a town of any size.
