Figures of Interest: Seanne (pr. Shen) Killy, governor of Sioti, is of the fourth clan of Xoehauss. It is probably true that Felimid Mac Fal is from here. Sioti is the home of one of the largest bard's schools in the world, with more than 200 bards and a library of more than 50,000 volumes.
Notes and History:
In October 1166, the entire southern coast of Tharn was evacuated ahead of an invasion by earth elementals sent by Ogremoch.
On November 19, 1166, the southern coast of Tharn was the site of a huge battle against the earth elementals sent by Ogremoch. Thousands died here; they were burned in pyres, and buried under earthen mounds. Nobody lives along the southern coast any more.
Sioti was the site of the first landings of the refugees of the Fianna which landed here some 2000 years ago (see Xoehauss for more details). Most Tharnians live in Sioti, although several hundred live in Glaut and Iathre, and a few more (perhaps two hundred) live on independent households, usually along the coast. There is no alchemist or magic shop, but there are quite a few clerics (mostly druids) and magic‑users living here, many of whom can make potions of various types (although their prices tend to about 150% of the normal market value). There are ten large docks on the west side of the town used to unload trade goods, mostly foodstuffs; little grows in Tharn without magical help. The large central building is the bard's college, and also the home of Seanne Killy and the governing workers (a small group, numbering less than fifty). Virtually any goods normally desired can be purchased here, except for poison and slaves. There is no thieves' guild or assassins guild, and the Fianna have taken great pains to keep it that way.
Sioti is a small town, but is the largest town in Tharn by far and is considered to be the capital, though the country really has no government to speak of, beyond being controlled by the clan elders of the various families.
** Note - in mid-October 1166, the government of Attellaria sent a relief/evacuation effort to the country to try to convince the population to relocate to Grendon. After some effort, all the people moved north in a caravan, and are now living in a new town built up around Grendon. The towns of Tharn are now occupied military camps:
Sioti - 4000 troops, commanded by Colonel Emleof, a female human fortyish, tall and very heavy; has 2 captains, 8 lieutenants and 40 NCOs.
Xoehauss - 600 troops, commanded by Captain Breraff, human female, very short and petite, young for her rank, about 25, supported by 2 lieutenants and 12 NCOs.
Iathre - 800 troops, commanded by Captain Wogned, a human male, very short, small, older about 70 or so, supported by two lieutenants and 12 NCOs.
Glaut - 800 troops, commanded by Captain Nelmeir, a human female, about 5'10", average build, around forty, supported by two lieutenants and 12 NCOs.
Each of these camps have been built up with stone battlements, stone buildings and stone animal pens, courtesy of the player character group.
Shortly after the encampment was finished, Hazor built a 50' tall enchanted tower.
