The guild is currently run by Tana Couervelour, who took over (reputedly with Wizard's council assistance, or that of some adventurers) in late 1167. Many of the guild members had disappeared, probably slain by the demigod that took over Chodo's body.
From 1161 until 1167, the Thieve's Guild was run by Belinda Contague, after her father Chodo apparently became senile or demented. She was arrested in late 1167, tried, found guilty, and imprisoned somewhere by the Wizard's council.
From 1155 until 1161, the Thieves' Guild was run by a man named Chodo Contague, who took over in 1155 after a succession of leaders were ousted or quit. He controlled not only the guild, but most other organized crime in the city. The crown would love to take his organization down, but has never been able to bring a case to court that would put him away. His daughter, Belinda Contague, is his successor and lieutenant, and controls a great deal of the day-to-day activities of the criminal empire. There are some who claim that the law actually does not plan to try to take him down, because under his control, there has actually been less crime and violence in the city. See his entry in Non-Player Characters for details on his fate.
