This little village is the home of a very fine school for psionics named Eilird Academy, of which there are an inordinately large number in this country. One theory is that the waters of the lake somehow increase psionic sensitivity. The school has powerful masters of many different skills, and they can teach new skills and also train psionics how to more skillfully use the powers they have.

Afronos is a human woman, born about 1135. It was learned by the players that in addition to those powers above, she has some powers previously unheard of - powers of enhanced psionic strength, turning magic power into psionic power, an ability that can drain mental acuity from a victim, a power that does the same for psionic strength, and one that drains life. He doesn't know any more details.
In exchange for his teaching, Afronos only accepts magic items and rare metals.
Much of the food is imported, although a lot of the diet is fish (mostly trout, bass and catfish) from the Great Summer Lake, which is quite warm despite the climate.
