This town used to be a very dangerous place to live, as the center of it was a manor house full of monsters. This was eventually cleaned out, an army post was established, and now it is a farming village which continues to grow. The manor house has been taken over by a clan of dwarves, about 120 of them now in the process of rebuilding the manor and altering it to their preferences.
Andeil was built around the home of a wizard named Andeil, who spent his time (according to local legend) summoning monsters to guard his treasure, and thinking up new ways to hide and guard it. He continually added to his mansion, but in 1126 all work ceased immediately after an earthquake struck the usually calm area. Andeil, secretive as he was, occasionally appeared outside or sent for locals, but this, too, ceased and popular belief is that the earthquake caused his death.
Baron Oculus rules Andeil and the Luingroth area. He is good friends with the Black Company, and sometimes called on them to deal with creatures from the manor house. He was born about 1090, is widowed and has no children. He has a friend and bodyguard named Garmlin Erassinar.
