Until the 1150s, this was a very small military base (a single company of about 100 men) with no civilian population. During the 1150s, there were a series of attacks by Ice Worm from the western hills, and the base was greatly enlarged, and attracted a few civilians. The military base now numbers about 500. No ice worms have been seen in years, but the military presence has stayed, as this is a good border site.
