Notes: This walled manor house was destroyed many years ago when it was attacked from below by some of the creatures that inhabited the vast subterranean chambers underneath. It is best known for the dungeon underneath, which has taken on the name of the manor house.
The builders were a pair of wizards named Stafarin and Lindar. They disappeared in 1067 Eight Age. The site consists of a large walled courtyard, 180' x 120', with 20' walls with towers at each corner and a gatehouse. The gates are destroyed, and there is one large hole in the wall on the north side. There is a stone-walled stable on the east side, about half burned down and destroyed, and a pair of small towers. One tower is next to the stables in is just a pile of rubble; the other is on the west side of the courtyard, is twenty feet across and in much better shape. The manor house is about 70' x 30', with a library, entrance hall with stairs to the second story, dining room, kitchen, study, a bedroom attached to a large study (this was probably Stafarin's room). The second story has a large bedroom with attached study (probably Lindar's room), they show quite a bit of damage, including scorch marks. There is a summoning room, a temple to some deity (all identifying objects long gone), a hall and some unidentified rooms. The third story is all empty rooms, probably storage or bedrooms, but are all empty, and all show signs of fire. The construction is very sturdy and fine, and would probably have been reclaimed many years ago, were it not for the massive monster population underneath.
The upper levels of the dungeon used to contain a varied population of low-level monsters, but most were slain by Alastor, a brother (?) of the Melnibonean deity, Arioch. What he was doing in the dungeon was never discovered. He was eventually slain in September 1161 during the last days of the Judgement War. Since then, the upper levels of the dungeon have come under the control of a tribe of orcs.
