Dovetail Woodworks is a large barnlike building, mostly taken up by drying racks, smoke rooms, and dry storage. There are thousands of boards, logs, and rods of woods of every imaginable kind. The master of the woodworks, Alvar Aalto, is happy to show visitors his work, discuss available items, or just sell wood, but only after it has been properly aged.
Alvar is quite friendly, inherited the business from his father just a couple of years ago, but he's at least as good as his father was, if not better. The business is located in a large clearing, with a really huge warehouse. There are wagons loaded with stacks of lumber, rough logs, and a couple of enclosed wagons. Inside are mostly stacks and stacks of common building lumber, mostly pine; some hardwood in much smaller stacks. There are sturdy wooden racks that reach to the ceiling, and systems of ropes and pulleys being used to raise and lower wood. Inside is office area; toward the back, where an office door is hanging open; inside is a large office, with dozens of small odds and ends of wood stacks and laying about, including some cunning carvings and odds and ends of items. This is Alvar's office.
There is also a smaller room built inside the warehouse, about 30' x 40' with a 20' ceiling, that contains all sorts of exotic wood, pre-cut for use and aged, not sorted in any particular order. Alvar knows pretty much what's in there. There is an old man sitting in the room, usually reading a book, sort of lounging in a corner, at all times.
The road between the warehouse and Keth is always busy with wagons taking loads of wood both ways; the company imports and exports through Thuna, the nearest port city.
