Figures of Interest: Chiun, a high level monk, makes his home in the Temple near Pega.
Notes: Pega is a small tundra village. The mayor of this small town is elected every four years, but nobody has run against Benefield since he was first elected in 1140. He is a very benevolent bureaucrat, taxes are extremely light and the rule of law is moderate.
The town was founded in 1032.
Custom and law make it an offense to cut down any of the scrub or small trees (green on map). The village, which takes up more territory that the map shows, is mostly homes; thus, all significant businesses and such are shown. The village is surrounded by a 20' high earthen, wood and stone rampart. The wall is patrolled by men of the village, two per 8" section of the wall.
