Location: Amrath
Notes: In 1155, a retired adventurer opened up a group of businesses in Amrath to cater to the steady stream of adventurers coming in and out of the Silver Eagle dungeon. The walled compound has a smithy and armorer outside the walls, a double gate to control entry, a jeweler, and alchemist, stables, a money changer, general offices and an antique appraiser. See blue Cities binder for details.
Alchemist - He keeps a supply of healing and extra-healing on hand at all times. All potions are sold for 100% of the values listed in the UA. He will buy any useful potion at 90% of these values, and thus will usually have a small supply of other potions for sale. There are five large guards in this business.
Armorer - can make armor to order. One level 13 master armorer, two level 9 smiths, four level 5 locksmiths, 6 level 2 journeymen and 1 level 1 apprentice. See Dragon #70 for details on what they can make.
Stable - all sorts of mundane horses, mules, standard mounts and war horses can be bought and sold here, as well as stabled here; they also sell saddles and the like. Prices are 10-20% over list, buy prices about 90% of list, more for mounts of above average hit points.
Offices - Magic items may be sold here, for somewhat less than book value, and advertising for items to be bought can be placed for a fee. A good number of items are typically sold here each month, with just a few available any given day, with new items every few days generally. Blakar himself runs this shop, and there are eight large guards in the offices at all times.
Jeweler - can appraise jewelry and will buy it at less than retail of value. Will appraise for a 5% fee. There are five large guards here at all times.
Moneychanger - can exchange coinage from copper through platinum, charges a 5% fee; will also exchange bars for coins for a 5% fee. There are five large guards here at all times.
Antique appraiser - will buy old valuables at somewhat less than retail value, or appraise them for 5% of value. There are four large guards present.
In addition to the various guards listed above, there are 40 soldiers who patrol the grounds and walls, in shifts.
